President Solitaire Attractions
Built in 1956, Erawan Shrine is located at the corner of Ratchadamri and Phloen Chit Roads, in front of the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok. Countless Thais and other Asian tourists who seek good luck visit this very popular shrine as it is reputed to have the power of granting wishes. Many come to pay homage by offering flower garlands and pray to the four-headed image of the Hindu God Brahma to grant wishes. The first Face which represents the Face of Peace and Health starts in a clockwise direction from the entrance of the shrine, followed by the Face of Good Fortune, Face of Good Relationships and Face of Protection against Evil. Often, if a wish has been granted, people thank the spirits by donating teak elephants, gigantic candles or commissioning classical Thai dancers and musicians to perform for the Gods.

Platinum Mall
Platinum Fashion Mall is a popular clothing mall, known as the best place in the city to buy inexpensive yet great quality clothes. The six storey mall offers more than 1,300 shops, specializing in women's clothing and fashion accessories. Since this is a wholesale mall, you can get items at very reasonable prices if you buy larger quantities, usually three items and up. The top floor is a food court where you can enjoy Thai food. You'll need at least four hours to get through the mall.

Take the BTS Skytrain to Chit Lom station, walk to the main intersection and turn right and then walk past CentralWorld on your left and over the small bridge to another intersection. Here, turn left and Platinum Fashion Mall is 200 meters on the left.

Amarin Plaza
Amarin Plaza is a shopping mall located in the heart of the Ratchaprasong shopping district. The five storey shopping plaza has an almost festive aura to it, drawing in a mixed crowd - from affluent Thais to expats and business travelers - with brand names such as Guy Laroche, Valentino and Crocodile, to name but a few. It also offers furniture, electronics, home decor, Thai crafts and more. There is a spa in which to relax and unwind and a few upscale restaurants.

Erawan Bangkok
Erawan Bangkok is a fashionable mall that has direct access to Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok and is next to the Erawan Shrine. It has 13,000 square feet and several floors of famous brands and brand stores such as Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, Club 21 and more. On the top floor there are wellness and beauty centers in which to pamper yourself. On the ground level there are a number of little eateries, collectively known as Urban Kitchen, serving up a wide range of cuisine.

Jim Thompson House
The Jim Thompson House was the home of James H.W. Thompson, a self-made American entrepreneur and the founder of the world renowned Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company. The Jim Thompson House is a museum and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. Set in a riverfront garden enclave on Soi Kasemsan 2, the house encompasses six lovely teak structures fashioned in traditional Thai styles, merged with unusual Western touches on the interiors such as Italian marble floors, crystal chandeliers and an indoor staircase. On the ground floor are scarves, ties, purses and gifts. Upstairs, there are ready-made clothes, cards, handbags, silks, cottons and a café, and above that are household fabrics, cushions, linens and furniture. A spacious well-lit interior keeps shopping relatively hassle free despite the flocks of tourists who descend there everyday.

Nightlife
Known for its diverse nightlife, Bangkok offers a wide choice of night clubs, classic Western-style pubs and a lot more, suiting all tastes and age groups. The clubbing scene in Thailand is mostly safe and an extremely fun way to finish the day and meet new people. It is recommended to go to clubs to which locals patronize as well. Sukhumvit Road boasts some of the city's most daring and adventurous night spots, including Bed Supperclub and Q Bar Bangkok on Sukhumvit 11, popular with trendy locals and expats and offering a range of music from house to hip hop.
Also off Sukhumvit Road is NARZ Bangkok. This large disco has achieved distinction by winning the Bangkok Metro Magazine's High Five Award. It is truly over the top and the perfect setting for a grand party. It has a terrific light and sound system and occasional guest DJs. NARZ Bangkok is open from 10 pm til late.
There is a lot more you can do at night other than clubbing, especially if you are visiting Bangkok with your family. Many markets offer great after dark shopping opportunities with incredible bargains. One of the most popular such markets is Patpong Night Market on Silom Road, which usually starts to come alive around 6.30 pm. World-class movie theatres screen the latest blockbusters, while other nightlife options include dining out at a chic restaurant or ten pin bowling as a DJ spins the tunes.
